How Local Website Marketing Can Grow Your Business

Most small businesses today are on the verge of closing their doors. More and more are shutting down each day. For the average business owner, keeping their current customers and constantly gaining new ones is the key to keeping their businesses afloat. For an example, I will use Susie’s Toy Store as an example of how small business advertising could determine if she can remain in business or not.

Susie is a working mother of 4 children who has been in business for 2 years operating a small kids toy store. A new super center just opened up in the nearby town and they offer cheaper prices for their toys. Suddenly, Susie’s customer base vanishes.

Susie checks on the internet and sees that other small toy stores are able to sell their items online, but Susie doesn’t know how to do any local online advertising. She does have a website however, but doesn’t have any products directly for sale on it. She debates on what to do to keep her business open. (more…)

To Business Opportunity Hunters – Can You Trust the Offer?

Let’s face it. No matter how much the internet has exploded in popularity these days and continues to be very popular as the medium of global communication and interaction, it is, still, an uncomfortable territory for the majority of people to do and transact business in – buying or selling.

For buyers, it’s the part where you take out your credit card out and type in the details on the order form. How many times do you look for the logo or mark that says the information you enter is secured?

All right, security breaches are not really very common, you say.

How about for Business Opportunity Hunters?

The offer was great, of course. It was a very professionally done sales copy and you didn’t bother to read the disclaimer. If you did, you must have noticed the emphasis that the letter is simply using a ‘forward looking” language and that figures cited are just examples to illustrate. They don’t apply to you – unless you take on the challenge of putting it to practice. (more…)

Online Business is a Game of Inches

When I was a bit younger I used to play handball at a club I was a personal trainer at. Never having played before I not only had to learn the rules and strategies but I had to condition my hands for the beating they took smacking that little ball around. As in many court sports you play against a multitude of skilled players ranging from young to old. It was the old guys you had to look out for they were crafty. Their returns were effortless. They always seemed to be right where the ball was going while I was running from one end of the court to the other working up a sweat while these guys never ran out of gas. One of these old pros would always say to me (after I missed a shot) “It’s a game of inches” Meaning that you’ve only got the palm of your hand and a ball half the size of that to hit square and send that ball back to where you wanted it to go. Not that easy of a task.

I was reminded of this as I began a new online marketing venture. From outside the court it looked simple but once you stepped in the subtle nuances of the game became apparent. This is where you realize that extensive training and support in this field is critical to survival. I now see why 97% of all new online businesses fail. You will use every last dollar and ounce of energy floundering through the maze that is internet marketing from pay per click to building websites. (more…)

I Will Teach You What You Need to Know About Running an Internet Business

How does running an internet business compare with operating a traditional storefront? You probably realize that the costs are much lower.

There is no need to lease a building or buy fixtures. Unless you get really busy, you won’t need to hire employees. But, to be successful at internet marketing, you will need at least a little education.

Many of us had to learn through trial and error, because there were limited sources for information. Years ago, the successful people were less than willing to share their secrets. Luckily, for the new internet business owner, there are lots of sources for reliable information today. Sometimes, the info is even free.

The first steps include choosing a hosting service and building a website. It’s a good idea to do a little comparative shopping before you sign up with a hosting service. Not only do the fees charged vary, but so do the services provided.

Some hosting services make it easier to judge the effectiveness of your internet marketing campaigns by providing up-to-the-minute site statistics. They might also provide website building software or templates with auto-responders.

Today, anyone with the ability to point and click can build a website. That’s how easy the new “what-you-see-is-what-you-get” programs are to use. But, once your website goes live, what’s next? (more…)

Quickest Way to Start an Online Business Right Now

Starting your own online business is the best way to secure your financial future and to work from home. The problem is, the initial learning curve can be large. However, there is one quick method that you can do right now to start.

Just starting out online is a daunting experience. We are bombarded with ads and webpages telling us what to do to make money. It’s next to impossible to figure out what we should do, and how we should do it.

Fortunately, there is one real method out there that stands out amongst the sea of false information. This is called Affiliate Marketing. Affiliate marketing is when you promote other peoples products and sell them. So what’s in it for you? Why would you want to sell someone else’s product? Here’s why:

Firstly, you don’t have to create your own product. This right here is huge. I know many people who have tried to create their own product, only to be overwhelmed by the work it takes, or to find out that no one wants to actually buy it.

Secondly, you get 50% or more per sale you make. This is why affiliate marketing is so amazing – if you choose the right affiliate product to market, you can actually make more per sale then the product owner. (more…)

Online Business Opportunities in 2010 – What Does the Future Hold?

Published: Apr 4th, 2010 | Author: Alex Bhaswara Add Comment

Anyone with access to a computer who has ever done a search online cannot fail to have noticed the seemingly sudden and dramatic explosion in online business opportunities out there. A quick search on google, King of the search engines, reveals a staggering 74,800,000 results for the search term ‘Online Business Opportunities’. Where have they all come from, and what is the reason for such prolific rise in the last couple of years?

Well, the answer is really quite straightforward: It all comes back to the simple market forces of Supply and Demand. The market reacts according to the demands placed upon it, and it would appear that we are all demanding more businesses that we can work from the comfort of our own home with the convenience of our laptop. The reality is, there are very few, if any, businesses out there that can offer the portability, affordability and ease of an online business. With the recession showing no signs of relaxing its stranglehold on the economy, many more people are being forced to turn to ways of supplementing their main income.

In the past, the ‘traditional’ solution to the problem of not being able to make ends meet, was to go out and get a second job. With today’s erratic work schedules and increasingly hectic family lives however, trying to get a part-time job that fits around everything else can seem like trying to stuff the proverbial round peg into a square hole. For an increasing number of us, the cumbersome and unwieldy nature of a part-time job that demands a set number of hours at a set time each day, rates a very poor second to the ability to work on our own terms, utilising the pockets of time that we find available to ourselves on a day-to-day basis. It is not that we don’t have the time, it is just that if everything on the schedule is trying to operate from a rigid, set structure, with no room for compromise, there are just going to be too many ‘timetable clashes’ for the whole thing to work. And that is assuming that with the job market being the way it is, there are any spare time jobs even available for consideration! (more…)
