When first starting out you need to invest in your education. The worst mistake you can make is to learn the hard way. What is learning the hard way? Trying things you think up without any knowledge of their potential effectiveness. For example, buying a Clickbank mall and tossing it up on the web and doing nothing to promote it. That is probably the most common mistake I’ve seen and there are a whole smorgasbord of sites that will promise you millions off malls. Most of us are attracted to Clickbank for three reasons, greed, fear or desperation: normally we desperately want to leave our day jobs behind and enjoy the laid-back work from home lifestyle (trust me, the lifestyle is fantastic). Vendors know this and play upon these emotions. Don’t fall for the trap. You need to invest in a few tools to be a great, highly profitable Clickbank affiliate, but they must be the right ones or you’re just throwing your cash and hope into the wind. This includes a keyword tool, a Clickbank search and product finder tool, most likely an SEO tool or two (if you go this route with your marketing) and one eBook for Clickbank beginners that outlines all the Clickbank marketing techniques. A plumber wouldn’t start a plumbing business without the right tools and neither should you. Invest this money up front and learn proper marketing techniques before you dive blindly in. Don’t learn the hard way as most do because the hard way will only frustrate you and lead to very poor results.

They were authored by people who cobbled together some vague concepts and scattered them in an eBook. They’re usually not out to help affiliates, instead they’re out to take advantage of new affiliates who don’t know any better. To but in bluntly, they’re con artists.

Some of the hucksters excel at appearing otherwise. They put up slick websites, hire hotshot copywriters to tug on your emotions, but beware; the majority are complete and total scams.
