Businesses Need Your Feedback… Earn $1000 – $3000 a month by filling out paid surveys! Easy way to work at home. Get Paid $20 or more by filling out a 5 minute survey.

Doesn’t this sound too good to be true? Well, your suspicions are correct. As an affiliate marketer I have seen my share of products and scams in the online marketplace. Before I attempt to sell anything online I first review or conduct a study about the product or service. This educates me about the product so I can keep my reputation safe. After joining over 20 different paid survey sites and filling out a load of these “paid surveys” I discovered the following:

Observation:

Most Paid Surveys are Actually Paid Out in the Form of Points and Sweepstakes Entries.

Findings:

Paid Surveys usually result in a reward in the form of the surveyed company’s product or samples of their products. Another popular reward comes in the form of sweepstakes entries… How am I supposed to fill my gas tank with sweepstakes entries? Can I feed my wife and kids sweepstakes entries? The truth is, that in over 90% of the paid surveys I took, I received either points for purchasing the company’s products or some form of savings on their products and services.

Observation:

You Do Not Qualify for Most of the Surveys.

Findings:

In most cases, before you can actually take a paid survey, you have to take a pre-qualifying survey. This can prove to be quite a waste of your time because you may have to answer loads of questions and provide your personal information only to discover that this paid survey is not available to you at the present time.

Observation:
Not as Good of a Payout as Indicated

Findings: If you really hustle and don’t hesitate to give out all of your personal information to as many companies as possible then you can finish a paid survey in about 20 to 30 minutes. Here’s another let down… You’ll actually receive about $1 to $5 for that paid survey so you’re going to average about minimum wage for really putting up with a lot of irritation.

What are Companies Getting Out of Paid Surveys?

You may not realize it just yet, but paid surveys are an excellent marketing tactic. Think about it… A company offers you $25 if you take their customer review survey. You take the paid survey. After providing your personal information, filling out a pre-qualifying survey, and finally taking the paid survey you discover that you can take the $25 now or $200 off a name-brand 42” plasma TV. Kind of hard to take your cash payment now isn’t it?

A paid survey is a form of market research. Big companies spend billions of dollars a year on advertising. They want to know their money is being spent well. These major companies hire a market research firm to conduct studies of their products, advertising, or of a certain demographic of people they are trying to target.

A market research firm then does a study to find out information for the big company. Their studies are conducted in several ways. One of the most popular is a paid survey. Members of the firms paid survey panels are invited to participate in a paid survey. The survey asks questions about how you feel about a certain product or advertisement and may ask questions on how you feel the product could be better. It may show you five or six advertisements or, slogans, or logos, and ask you to choose the one you think is best. They may survey 5000 people then the company that hired them will make it’s product based on the results of the paid survey.

Market research companies are paid alot of money to do this. In return their panelists are compensated for their help. An average paid survey takes around 20 minutes and pays from $5 to $20. Some may pay more depending on time and importance of the study.

Legitimate paid survey panels are always free to join and will never ask you to purchase anything. In fact from time to time you may even receive a product to test and be compensated for it. The best way to profit from paid surveys is by being a member of as many paid survey panels as possible. This way you will be invited to participate in more paid surveys and make more money. A single paid survey panel may send you several paid surveys a month or may only send one. That’s why it is very important to start by joining the top 20 paid survey panels. By doing this you are almost guaranteed to receive at least one paid survey a day.

You will likely never earn a full-time wage when signing on with a paid survey company. However, earning a few bucks here and there can go a long way toward paying for some of the extras in life. In your quest to find a few of these paid survey companies to sign up with, you are likely to run into scams. Do you know how you can spot a scam? Your biggest clue is that the scams will ask you for money.

There are a number of ways that paid survey scams work. First, there is the “one-time registration fee for administration purposes” scam. The companies that pull these types of scams will sound very sincere and post supposed testimonials from their “satisfied customers,” all as a way to entice you and scam you out of some money. These places will say that they must unfortunately charge that one time fee as a way to cover the administrative costs such as maintaining their website and keeping their databases up-to-date with the latest information. Plus, these paid survey scam artists will say that it also a way to separate the riff-raff from the people who are truly serious about earning an income from home.

What these companies don’t tell you is that all the information in their database that you just paid a registration fee to access is information you can find on your own – for free! They justify that they do all the work for you so that you can access the paid survey information from one place. Another part of these scams is something you don’t find out until after you have shelled out the money. More often than not, the biggest scam of all from these jokers is that they have a lot of non-paying survey sites listed in their database. In addition, their information is not always up to date. They could be listing paid survey companies that no longer exist!

Another scam that these companies perpetuate includes selling your personal information to a number of marketing companies. The next thing you know, the number of telemarketing calls to your home increases. You will also likely get more hang-up calls and automated recordings. Your email inbox starts filling up with spam. The junk mail factor increases exponentially at your home too. You will start to receive chain letters with all sorts of scams and business opportunities in which you never requested information. The ramifications of all this junk can last for a long time.

Another red flag that can put you on alert are those paid survey companies that claim you can earn a full-time income just filling out surveys and forms online. Any company claiming that is a scam artist. As mentioned before with these scams, it is practically impossible to earn a full-time income. These surveys are based on demographics, which mean that not everyone will qualify for every available survey. Sure, there are a few surveys that will pay a few hundred dollars to qualified participants, but those are rare. If you even qualify for one of the paid surveys, the money you get is more like one dollar upward to twenty dollars – extra pocket change for the most part.

An additional indicator of paid survey scams is an unprofessional website. You might find numerous misspelled words or poor grammar. Weird character symbols in odd places and broken hyperlinks also hint at the scam factor. Poor website navigation and lack of contact information can be added to the list. The same goes for the lack of security. With secure websites where you input personal information or make payments, you will likely see a little lock icon at the bottom of your screen. If it is missing, click that computer mouse the other direction.

There is some good news on the paid survey front. Quite a few legitimate websites exist where you can access directories filled with information about a variety of survey companies. There are no hidden fees or fine print which translates into a scam-free zone and no charge to access the information!

These legitimate paid survey directories also do not false advertise. They will not claim a full-time income like many of the scams online do these days. Rather, they are realistic and fully disclose that full-time income is very rare. These directories will further tell you (unlike the scam artists) that the more paid survey companies you sign up with, the more likely you will qualify to participate in one.

To recap, paid surveys are a fun way to earn a few extra dollars but it will never make a profound impact on your wallet. Scams are abundant, so keep in mind the factors listed above that can help you spot a fake. Above all, just remember that you should never, ever have to pay for information that you can get for free elsewhere.

Paid survey membership sites are a relatively new phenomenon to the internet, but they are certainly not uncommon. Paid survey membership sites are those you see with long sales letters talking about how they tried everything and nothing worked for them, and then they took paid surveys and now make a nice income working from home in their pajamas. Most of these paid survey membership sites will try to impress you and get your hopes up and your wallet out. Common Paid Survey Membership site

False Claim #1 You can make X amount of dollars an hour

This is misleading because the way they say it makes it sound like you log on to your computer and you go to a website and you can sit in front of you computer and take paid surveys for four hours straight and make a hundred dollars. When in reality you do not decide when and how often you take paid surveys. You get invitations for paid surveys from paid survey companies when they feel like sending you one and when you fit into the target demographic. Also they don’t pay you by how long you spend taking the paid survey. Usually they say you get X amount of dollars for this survey (that they sent you when they wanted to) and don’t care how long it takes you. Usually you can get $3 for a survey that make take you anywhere from ten minutes to a half hour. Also you may only receive one paid survey a month from a paid survey company.

Common False Claim #2 The website you are signing up with will actually pay you money.

Nope, they don’t. I wonder how their sales would do if they included somewhere on their website that they do not actually pay you and are only providing you with a list. These websites only provide you with a list of paid survey companies that pay you for their opinion. Now that may be a valuable service to provide you with a list of places where you can go to sign up because as I mentioned before you may only receive one paid survey per month from each company. So having a list of paid survey websites may be valuable but I don’t think its worth the 20 or so bucks they charge you for it.

Get paid to fill out surveys are by no means a scam in itself. You take surveys and get paid. Companies value your opinion because understanding how consumers think, shop, and why they buy certain products helps them improve their products and services and make them more money. At this point, they hire market research firms who in turn gather information from customers/potential customers by conducting simple online surveys. Is it really worth spending your time with these online surveys? Lets take a look at this in detail.

They compensate you for your time via cash, prizes or points which can later be redeemed for cash. Surveys usually take 5-25 minutes, and can pay up to $1-100 per survey, depending on the length of the survey. Some of the surveys even pay more if you are a specialist in your field like working in a medical facility etc.

So how do you find these market research firms? There are online paid-survey databases that already take care of this for you and find you the highest paid surveys. Some charge a small start up fee and others are free. Unfortunately, there are paid survey scams. As the popularity of the paid surveys program grew, it opened doors for hundreds of scam artists who saw an opportunity to profit from selling memberships to low quality paid survey databases. Their sole intention was to get paid themselves, without providing any value to you, the survey taker. In our research of the paid surveys opportunity we have reviewed few hundred paid survey databases and recommend this opportunity.

If you are looking for big buck’s, then paid to fill out surveys is not an opportunity for you. Expecting around $500 per month from this opportunity is reasonable if you are ready to spend one to two hours per day. This opportunity is really a fun filled one. This get paid to do online survey opportunity is not meant to replace your full time job.

Focus groups are another category in paid survey. But most of them are not online. You need to physically visit the place where focus group meeting takes place. Normally you get paid anywhere between 75$ to 300$ per hour. If you are in big cities, focus groups are worth a try and you will get several opportunities. It is important that you register with various survey groups who provide opportunities with focus groups.

Telephone surveys are one other category in paid survey. If you have small kid’s at home, try to avoid this type of surveys. It is unpredictable on at what time they call you for survey if survey conducting firms don’t maintain your preferred timing for surveys. This type of survey doesn’t give you the money like in focus groups. But it is comparable with online surveys.

Is it worth spending time with online paid surveys? Yes it is worth as long as you looking for only a small income. It is not for the people who expect to earn lot of money in a short time.
