Affiliate Marketing Information – Learn How the Millionaires Did It

In this article I will be talking about Affiliate marketing information. I will give you the information on what exactly affiliate marketing is as well as tell you the strategies that the Internet Millionaires used to get where they are.

What is Affiliate Marketing?
When a person or business creates a guide, subscription or an ebook they obviously want to make as many sales as possible. Since they are selling packaged information and not a physical thing, any sale is a profit which allows them to take on Affiliate marketers. Affiliates will advertise the product that he or she wants to promote and whenever a sale is made from the affiliates link then he will receive a commission from that sale. Many affiliate programs will give 50-75% of the entire sale as the commission.

How much can an affiliate make, Could being an affiliate be a career?
Well different products give different payouts, some will give $20 a sale others will give $200 a sale. Absolutely many people do affiliate marketing as a career. Some middle class others will be making 7 figures a year. The thing with affiliate marketing is you are your own boss, a person can work as many or as few hours a day as they please and they don’t have anyone showing them what to do or how to do it. How successful you want to be comes down to how good of an affiliate you are, some people work 4 hours a day and make good many others work 1 or 2 a day and are rich.

Make Tons of Money With Affiliate Marketing

In this article I will be talking about how you can make tons of money with affiliate marketing. I will tell you how affiliate marketing works and how it can make you rich.

What is affiliate marketing?
When a person or business makes a product such as an ebook, subscription website or guide they obviously will want to make as many sales as possible, since they are selling packaged information or subscriptions any money coming in is a profit no matter how small or large, this will allow them to start up an affiliate program. What an affiliate does is sell whatever item they have decided to promote and get a commission from that sell. Commission generally runs about 50-75% of the item which can be anywhere between $20 and $200 depending on what he or she wants to sell.

How do you make sales?
The best way is to find a great product, look up information on it and get the perfect keywords and landing page for it then take out a google ad and rake in cash from every purchase. Many of the “online millionaires” did it just like this, google ads is the best way to get traffic to the item and you can promote as many items as you want.

Sell Multiple Products Through a Single ClickBank Account

A ClickBank merchant account allows you to define and sell up to 50 separate products. If you have more than one product in your range, it makes sense to sell them from a shared ClickBank account. Here are three good reasons why:

  • Every active ClickBank account incurs a setup fee of $49.95. Why pay this more than once?
  • Managing multiple ClickBank accounts adds unnecessarily to your administrative effort
  • The combined sales of multiple products through one account will significantly boost your Marketplace ranking

Unfortunately, the architecture of the ClickBank system has, historically, not been well suited to selling multiple products from a single account, especially for merchants who use affiliates to promote their products. The problem is that, although you can define 50 products within ClickBank’s account control panel, you can only specify a single landing page URL – the destination page that your affiliates will refer their prospects to.

The result is that all referrals must arrive at your site via a common page. This forces you either to present all your products on a shared sales page or to create an intermediate page, from which your visitors must click through to see the product of their choice. Neither option is ideal as they both create obstacles that will distract your prospects and seriously reduce your conversion rate.

For optimum sales effectiveness, affiliate referrals should go directly to the sales page for the product of interest. This is known as deep linking and is widely acknowledged as the best way to convert affiliate referrals into buyers. But ClickBank’s lack of support for this technique is a major barrier that inhibits effective use of its growing affiliate network.

To tackle this problem, a number of pioneering merchants have developed their own techniques to work around ClickBank’s shortcomings. Some of these innovations have even evolved into successful commercial software products. Most implementations rely on intercepting the inbound referral and automatically redirecting it to the relevant product page, as indicated in URL parameters passed by the referring affiliate. There are several variations on this theme, but they share a common gambit – using scripts, installed on the merchant’s web server, to intercept and redirect requests.

ClickBank Hucksters

Note: After writing this I realized that I’m making a huge assumption about you, the reader – you want to be honest with your visitors and make money while providing value through your advertising and affiliate programs. If you just want to make money hard-selling them whatever you can, you won’t like this article.

———

I’ve been working on an interesting article for AffiliateBlog.com about how the people who make the big bucks online get it done. I’ve hung around DNForum and Sitepoint an some of the other forums where these guys (and gals) hang out, and I’ve been Private Messaging, Instant Messaging and even speaking on the phone with some of them.

Your relationship with your customers is based on trust, regardless of your business. Trust is even more important in cyberspace or the blogosphere, because you never really know who is behind the words that are being typed and what they are up to behind that keyboard (I am in my pajamas right now sipping my second cup of coffee while my German Shepherd is nuzzling my leg).

Clickbank makes a bucket of money selling information, including ebooks, reports and software.

Many of the people I’ve spoken with make a lot of money (as in tens of thousands of dollars a month) recommending ClickBank products to people.

I think this is terrific. Where I start to squirm is when people put up a site that purports to recommend ClickBank-related products based on personal endorsement, meaning that they claim to have used the product and recommend it.

Here’s some text from a ClickBank landing page:

I have found a proven method anyone can implement to very easily earn an extra $500, $1,000 or even $5,000+ every single week, with only 15 minutes of your time, and create a significant ongoing monthly income. This method is a no-nonsense, set it and forget it system, which will virtually run on 100% autopilot. People just like you are earning enough money to quit their jobs within the first month. Stop worrying about the bills, cancel your daily commute, never leave your family for a job that is making someone else rich, and start living your life the way YOU choose!

This well guarded System has never been revealed until now!

Would you spend $40 to get this program? I can tell you without reading to the bottom of the page that it doesn’t work. How? After twenty years in the business world I can tell you that it’s not going to happen the way this guy says.

But he is pushing all of the buttons, and there are a lot of people out there making big bucks helping people flush $40 at a time down the toilet. In fact, the paragraph above is from the top program in a certain ClickBank category.

When something appears on your website you are making an endorsement of that product or service, which links you forever to that product or service. Making a recommendation based mostly or solely on reward is unethical. In fact, there is a lot of talk about increasing clickthrough by blending advertisements with content. This is just another way of abusing the relationship you have with your visitors, which is why it is against the Terms Of Service for most ad programs (including AdSense).

Review of the New ClickBank Elite

The old ClickBank Elite is no more. Enter the new ClickBank Elite!. The new CB Elite version 1.47 has three notable features: 1. Enhanced Search and Sort functions for finding exceptional products to promote, 2. CB Ads for monetizing traffic and 3. Link Cloaking for stopping commission theft.

1. New CB Elite search and sort functions let you download a copy of the Clickbank product list database (1.5 meg zipped, 7.4 meg unzipped) and store your copy for future use. Once unzipped and loaded you can sort by categories, subcategories or all. Sort and select on any of 7 factors: gravity, popularity, $/sale, % commission, Title, description and % referred. You can specify maximum or minimum values, or range of values you want. From the main screen you can easily click off from a product to a new web page to see the landing site, check the CBTrends graphs, check the popularity ranges in all categories and subcategories or get a hoplink. Full analytical control by mouse-click from one control point. When finished just close the window and go to the next item. Very convenient.

CB Elite now incorporates popular Affiliate Project X searches for Leach, Workhorse or Rising Star, as well as new product searches.

My personal observation was that having all these CB Elite features in one place at the same time saved me about 60% to 70% of the time necessary to find and check out a product. Also, because it was fast and you did not have to go away to open another window to see another aspect, it was easier to keep focussed on the product at hand until I finished analyzing and classifying it.

CB Elite is a very good tool for empowering Affiliate Marketers to check out and compare products fast.

3 ‘Other’ Things to Do With ClickBank

Many people are familiar with ClickBank as a potential source of income, specifically through the art of affiliate marketing, but ClickBank is significantly more than that. There are several alternate uses for the information and opportunities that ClickBank offers. For example, you can use ClickBank to get valuable information at a huge discount, or to get a meme you want spread ‘out there’. Here’s what I’m talking about:

Saving Money on Stuff you ‘Need’ to Know

Most people who have spent any time looking into work-from-home opportunities have come across ClickBank, and they’ve found products on it that they want. What a significant number of them seem to miss, however, is the backhanded discount that ClickBank can get you on your information.

All you have to do is go to ClickBank, sign up as an affiliate, and then use your own affiliate link to purchase whatever you need to know about. Depending on the product, once the affiliate payment has processed, you just saved yourself 20-80% on the information product that you purchased!

Monetize Your Website and Blog With ClickBank

ClickBank (CB) is a large marketplace that aims to put together vendors and affiliates for those products. As an affiliate you can gain between 30% and 70% of the final sales value of the product. As it can handle up to 20000 products that offer affiliate commissions this could potentially be a large and lucrative market for affiliate marketers. Yet, their whole business model is based on putting marketers in contact with affiliate salespeople.

Now, ClickBank to offer a data feed of their products, which is updated every day. But this feed is all based around affiliate ship rather than marketing the products themselves. Which is a shame, as it could be so much more. Now, it is possible to take this data feed and to create a nascent products directory around it. But offering the feed as it is would be useless as the data would simply drive potential purchasers away. As a purchaser you don’t want to know how lucrative a product is to an affiliate, or how good the conversions are. It’s all useless and redundant information.

Now, if you have the programming skill and a couple of weeks’ time then you can take the data feed, parse it into a database and use the link information to perform screen scrapes of the thousands of site provided to create a description of all the products on offer. None of this is new, in fact, as these the techniques are used as the basis for several ClickBank-based businesses.

The only problem with this methodology is that Screen Scrapes can yield total garbage and once again this can put potential purchasers off. The only way to maintain quality is to actually visit each site and to create the sales text based on what information the site provides. Again, it’s all entirely possible and has been done. There is also the opportunity to take a screen shot of the site so that any potential purchaser can see an image to go with the blurb. Now, this process would take a long time. But once the first pass at generating the text is done it’s still a question of tracking the changes in each release of the ClickBank database and ensuring that any site based on this is kept up to date.

Why You Should Focus on Clickbank As Your Profits Booster

ClickBank has been around now since 1998 and has become known as the Internet’s principle retailer for delivering digitally products. Specializing in eBooks and software they deliver a vast variety of digitally-based products across the Internet and rely largely on affiliate marketing to present said data and available materials to the general public.

The reason why we are going to focus on ClickBank as our profits booster is that with little to no overhead and in a very short period of time you can begin generating revenues as a ClickBank member, and grow your company over time into whichever avenues are of the most interest to you.

What ClickBank does is allows sellers to set their desired percentage for affiliate marketers on products they have created and available for sale. For instance you may have written an eBook on photography and have it available for sale on ClickBank, you can decide to provide any range from 1% all the way up to 75% of the sell price as going to the affiliate who actually enables the sell of the product. You can also set the price per download or “sale” of the product at pretty much any price up to $49.95.
